Gas & Power

Of the 1.5 billion people in the world without access to modern fuels, almost a third of them live in Africa.  Developing energy systems to bring power, including renewable energy to rural locations in particular should improve living standards, increase employment and reduce the negative impact of current energy sources like wood or charcoal on both health and the local environment.

It also signals a tremendous opportunity for providers.

In December 2010, CAMAC formally entered the African energy market via a new subsidiary, CAMAC Gas & Power.

An integrated, single source from the wellhead to the wire line, CAMAC Gas & Power is headquartered in Houston, with offices in South Africa and Nigeria.  The group, which emphasizes solar and natural gas-based electric utility projects, is currently investigating solar projects in South Africa and the feasibility of an independent gas-fired power station in Nigeria.
