CAMAC International and its affiliate group of companies
believe in investing in the communities where we operate and live. By
providing an avenue for academic achievement and human development,
CAMAC partners in the growth of citizens and communities worldwide.
The company contributes funding for educational scholarships, endowments,
internships, arts education and programming as well as providing key
leadership on several boards and commissions. Since 1995, CAMAC has funded the $600,000 petroleum
engineering endowment of the University of Houston Cullen College of
Engineering. These scholarships are awarded to African students pursuing
graduate level degrees in petroleum engineering. In 2000, CAMAC established
a $1 million endowment to Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.
CAMAC also contributed $150,000 to Fort Valley State University for
the purchase of a fully equipped coach bus to transport school athletes.
Dr. Lawal also dedicates valuable time as a board trustee for The Kinkaid
School, a 100-year-old preparatory school in Houston, Texas. As a commissioner on the Port of Houston Authority
and vice chairman on the Houston Airport Development System Corporation,
Dr. Lawal is responsible for directing the resources of and reviewing
the policies of two of the largest and most influential international
employers in the greater Houston metropolitan area. Finally, Eileen
and Kase Lawal serve as co-chairs of Hope Lives Here, a $300 million
dollar UNICEF’s campaign against HIV/AIDS in Africa, and recently
donated $500,000 over the next 10 years toward the campaign.. |
